The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) major crime unit was called out to reports of gunshots on Bennett Avenue in St. John’s Monday night, police said Tuesday.
Just after 9 p.m., officers from several RNC units responded to a residence on Bennett Avenue to a report of shots fired in the area.
Officers discovered damage to a residence consistent with gunshots. There were individuals at home during the incident, however there were no injurie, police say.
No arrests have been made at this time and the RNC major crime unit is continuing to investigate this incident. There is no evidence to suggest that this was a random act of violence, police say.
The RNC are asking any residents in the area with CCTV footage including doorbell cameras etc., to contact the RNC if they have video between 8:45 pm and 9:15 pm.
