Royal Newfoundland Constabulary patrol officers and members of the K-9 unit were called out to a pair of armed robberies early Monday morning.
The first took place just before 2 a.m. at a store in the centre city area. The second occurred just before 3 a.m. at a business in Mount Pearl.
In both cases, a lone male entered the store, presented a weapon to the clerk, demanded money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police have not indicated if the incidents are related.
