Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers were gifted a serendipitous moment during a routine traffic safety stop in Conception Bay South Monday night.

After stopping a vehicle and issuing a number of tickets to the 40-year-old male driver who was behind the wheel without valid insurance, police determined that the 27-year-old male passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The wanted man was arrested and held overnight for a court appearance today in St. John’s. The driver, meanwhile, was released but had his vehicle impounded.
