A 70-year-old St. John’s man will appear in court Tuesday morning on a host of charges including owing more than $15,000 in outstanding fines.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary stopped the driver on Cumberland Crescent at 3:35 p.m. on Monday afternoon and found him to be driving with a suspended license, no insurance or registration and false stickers in addition to his large sum of outstanding fines.

He was taken to lockup where he was held for a court appearance Tuesday morning. In addition, his vehicle was impounded.

The RNC responded to 159 calls for service during the most recent 24-hour reporting period.
