ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - The Unusual Commoners packed the Rock House on George Street in St. John's Tuesday night with their Celtic folk songs and traditional Australian tunes, mixed with some songs by The Wiggles, by request.

About 300 people turned out for the show Sept. 25, lining up on George Street before the doors opened, to make sure they got in.

Band members Lachy Gillespie and Anthony Field are better known as the Purple Wiggle and the Blue Wiggle, respectively, while Oliver Brian and David O'Reilly are members of The Wiggles' band. The Wiggles — the world’s top children's performers — were in St. John's for six shows at Holy Heart Theatre this week, and Gillespie, Field, Brian and O'Reilly took the opportunity to debut their side project in an adults-only show afterwards.
