At least three people were injured Friday night following two separate motor-vehicle incidents.
A head-on collision at the intersection of Portugal Cove Road and Higgins Line sent a woman and child to hospital at about 7:00 p.m. The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles and left them both blocking part of the intersection until they could be removed.
A second incident on Water Street about an hour later saw a pedestrian suffer an apparent foot injury caused by a vehicle. The man was tended to by emergency personnel as he lay on the ground while the driver of the car involved spoke to police in a nearby parking lot. The victim was taken to hospital by Eastern Health paramedics.
None of the injuries were thought to be serious.
