TimeMaster’s Comics Inc. has donated 300 board games to the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries.

The circulating collection of 300 donated board games will be unveiled and ready to borrow with a library card Friday.

The collection, which includes classic favourites such as Monopoly, Trouble, and Snakes and Ladders, also includes popular contemporary titles such as Cataan, Mansions of Madness, Lanterns and The Betrayal at the House on the Hill.

Board games are a means to further advance lifelong literacy skills such as encouraging social interaction, fostering communication skills and promoting teamwork and collaboration, the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries said in a news release.

Borrowing a board game from the library will be as easy as borrowing a book with loan periods of three weeks. The TimeMaster’s collection has been divided among a handful of branches throughout the province, with the largest quantity residing at the A.C. Hunter Library location in St. John’s.

TimeMaster’s Comics and Collectibles is located on Torbay Road in St. John’s.
