Two children and one adult were taken to hospital following a two-car collision at an intersection that area residents say is notoriously dangerous.

The collision happened at the top of Kenna’s Hill where it meets Torbay Road and Logy Bay Road.

People living in the area told the Telegram that the intersection has been the scene of multiple accidents over the years and that they have tried, to no avail, to have some kind of traffic control or calming placed in the area. They say it is common for vehicles to speed or race through the area or to fail to stop or yield according to signage or other vehicles.

One woman said she has been harassed by other drivers, with gestures or hitting their horns, as she tries to park in her driveway that borders directly into the intersection itself.

It’s unknown what caused today’s collision but both cars sustained extensive damage.

None of the injuries to the three victims were considered serious.
