PILLEY’S ISLAND, N.L.

NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR

CANADA

The Department of Transportation and Works is advising motorists in central Newfoundland that vehicle restrictions have been put in place on the Pilley’s Island Causeway bridge.

Work to replace the deck of the bridge will be ongoing until November.

The westbound lane will be demolished and reconstructed first followed by the demolition and reconstruction of the eastbound lane. During the project, only one lane will be open at a time.

Vehicles wider than 2.8 metres or with overhanging loads will be unable to travel across the bridge during construction.
