The age old problem of flooding occurred once again in Noel’s Pond today brought on by heavy rain and melting snow.

Transportation and Works had an excavator on site to try and clean up debris at a bridge in the community.

This was one of a number of road closures and advisories to stay off in the Bay St. George and Port au Port Peninsula area due to flooding and washouts.

Meanwhile, in Stephenville there was the usual flooding of a section of Massachusetts Drive near Stephenville airport where the road was closed to traffic.

On a section of the Hansen Highway near Cold Brook shoulders were being washed out by the runoff, while the Department of Transportation and Works was advising people to stay off the roads in Port au Mal and Fox Island River.

Route 460 at Port au Port West was also closed to traffic until further notice, while Route 463 between Mainland and Cape St. George was also closed due to a washout.

In the Heatherton area on Route 404 the road was reported closed due to a washout out at Rattling Brook.
