DAVIDSON Alan McLean of Port Kirwan, NL Nov 21, 1941 to Jan12, 2021 Alan passed peacefully after a lengthy illness in the presence of his wife at the Health Sciences Complex, age 79. He is predeceased in Scotland, by Parents, James Davidson and Mary (McLean), Brothers John and Richard, Sister Janet and Daughter Kimberley. Alan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Fay (Walsh), Port Kirwan, Son Alan (Ginny) NS, Daughter Kerry (Dean) BC and Grandson Sean (Alexandria) NS. He is also survived by nieces and nephews in BC, New Hampshire, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand. He will be fondly remembered by many friends across Canada and especially by his close friends, Gerald and Carol Ann O’Neill, Jim and Joan Walsh of Port Kirwan and Lou and Liz Perry of Gull Island. Alan came to Canada in 1965 from Scotland with his wife and young son. He was a painter for 50 years industry and school boards in BC and Ontario. He was at one time a little league baseball coach and a hospice volunteer. In retirement he was happiest playing cards with his wife, and walking his dogs, Rosie and Quinn. He loved playing music, singing and checking Hockey Scores of his beloved Leafs (nobody is perfect). His family wishes to thank Dr. Boland and RN’s Colleen and Jennifer, and other staff at 5 South A. A special thanks to Dr. T. McGarry for his kindness an home visits over the years. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Chapel in Port Kirwan, Sunday, January 24th, from 2 pm to 6 pm. Funeral mass will be held also in the Chapel in Port Kirwan on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 11 AM. Due to Covid restrictions mass will be by invite only.
