Andrea Lear

Andrea Lear
LEAR Andrea Elizabeth Andrea Elizabeth Lear passed away at 77 years of age on April 5t.h., 2020, after a valiant fight with cancer. Andrea was a gentle, kind soul who loved art, music and books. She excelled scholastically. Andrea attended Bishop Spencer College. She obtained her B.A. and B.Ed from Memorial University and her M.A. from Laval University in Quebec, after which she went on to teach French on the island of Montreal, at Memorial University and in the Newfoundland school system. Some might remember Andrea as the “pupil” from TV’s University of the Air French classes in the early 1960’s. Sadly, Andrea’s teaching career was cut short in the early 1980’s by ill health. Andrea was predeceased by her parents: Eli and Marion Lear, brother John, sister-in-law Donna (Thurston) and niece Heather Lear. She leaves to mourn her sister Marilyn (Percy) Lear; nieces: Christina Percy, Diane (Huygens) Percy and spouse Eric Huygens; nephews: Christopher and spouse Krystyna and Jason Lear; great nephews and nieces Ronen, Ember, Heather, Michael, Elizabeth. There will be cremation and a private internment. A service of celebration of Andrea’s life will take place in future healthier times.
