Angela Byrde

Angela Byrde
BYRDE Angela (Khraishi) Angela Byrde (Khraishi), born 1955 in Placentia, passed away on March 29, 2020, aged 64. Angela is loved and celebrated by all who knew her. She loved life and travel, music, dancing, good food and wine, and learning languages, and had a joyful sense of fun, mischief, and humour. Her adventurous spirit took her across the world, and she retained a special fondness for her adoptive countries of Spain, Jordan, and Palestine. Her compassion and generosity touched people around her wherever she went, and she employed these virtues fully during her time as a nurse. Her courage, bravery, and flair for life never left her, even in the most trying circumstances. We thank her brother, Joe (Diane), and all of her sisters, Madonna Fitzgerald (Dominic), Christine King (Kevin), and Hilda, and we especially thank her youngest sister, Bernie Bowers (Wade), her lifelong companion and ally for these fifteen months. We also say a grateful thank you to the doctors and nurses at 4NA and the ATP unit at the Health Sciences Centre, especially Charlene Downey and Dr. David Jones, whose kindness, care, and attention were a great source of comfort. She is survived by her husband, Majed Khraishi, and her children, Sarah and Zayd, who will forever cherish her thoughtfulness, wisdom, and love for her family. We all hope to live as fully in our lives as she did and to honour her example of respect, honesty, and empathy for others. Due to the current Public Health Advisory of COVID-19 a formal memorial service will be held in the summer, public health permitting. Donations in her memory can be made to Choices for Youth, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, or a charity of the donor’s choice. In lieu of visitation at this time, the family and staff of Barrett’s Funeral Home encourage people to post their condolences, share photos, and tributes by visiting the online memorial guestbook at www.barretts.ca
