MERCER BEULAH MAY Mrs. Beulah May Mercer, (nee Russell) – of Coley’s Point passed away peacefully at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Mrs. Mercer was 88 years old. Leaving to mourn her children: Irving (Iris) Russell, Randell (Donna) Mercer, Byron (Dianne) Mercer & Debbie Mercer (Pete Jerrett). Grandchildren Scott Russell, Christopher Russell, Shawn (Maureen) Mercer & Erin (Andrew) Coates. Great Grandchildren Chantelle, Ryan, Alex, Colton, Tristan, Wyatt & Caroline. And a large circle of nieces, nephews, family & friends. Pre-deceased by her Parents Stephen & May Russell and her Husband Lewis “Buck” Norman Mercer. Grandson: Jeff, Son-in-law Jim Wheaton, Siblings: Greta (Harry) Mercer & Harvey (Ruth) Russell. Also, Siblings-in-law: Harry Mercer, Percy (June). Lloyd (Muriel), Frank (Ada), Hayward (Sue), Helen (Ron), Florence (Rick), Bertha (Adriel), Jean (Stan) & Doris. Beulah was a homemaker in every sense of the word. Visits from family and friends always involved beautiful meals and baked goods that years later would still be commended on. A rock for her family, she was always there for encouragements and guidance. As a member of “The Car Club”, Beulah enjoyed many day trips and excursions with her girlfriends. This group evolved into “The Birthday Girls”, as any excuse to celebrate and eat out. She later joined the Bay Roberts 50 Plus group, where she excelled as a bowler and again enjoyed excursions and activities. Resting at Slade’s Funeral Home, L.T. Stick Drive, Bay Roberts on Saturday, February 22, from 10:30 a.m. - 9:00 pm; and Sunday, February 23, from 10:30 A.M. - 12 Noon. Funeral service to take place at Grace United Church, Coley’s Point on Sunday, February 23 at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at the Grace United Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Beulah's memory may be made to the Grace United Church or BTSPCA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Slade’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, serving Carbonear, Upper Island Cove, Bay Roberts and surrounding areas.
