SMITH Avril Elizabeth (Blanche) Passed away on January 2, 2020 at the age of 75. Leaving to mourn David, loving husband of 55 years, and daughters Carmel Smith and Karen Dixon (Scot), from Perth, Australia. Sisters: Janet Smith (Clarence, deceased), Shirley Osmond (Harvey), Lorraine Lockyer (Ed), Brothers: Herbert Spurrell (Myrtice), Norman Spurrell (Eva), Brian Spurrell (Janet). Grandsons Conrad and Ronan Dixon. After a long illness she is in peace at last. She will be remembered and celebrated by family and friends far and wide who were blessed by her kind heart, generosity and acts of service. The family would like to thank the staff at ER, CCU and Ward 5 South A at the Health Sciences Complex for their compassionate care. Visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, January 7th from 2pm-4pm, and 7pm-9pm and Wednesday, January 8th from 10am-11:30am. Funeral service to follow from Barrett’s Memorial Chapel at 12pm. The Interment will take place at Memorial Gardens, Galway. Donations may be made to SPCA St. John’s.
