John Douglas Carter — Greely, Ont.

February 27, 1940 - April 4, 2021. Peacefully on Sunday April 4th, at home in Greely, Ont., in the loving presence of his family. Loving, caring, best friend and husband to Catherine Mary Carter. Loving father of five children, Kimberley Carter, John Carter, Richard (Wanda) Carter, Christopher Carter and Catherine Carter. Grampy (Grumpy) to six beautiful grandchildren whom he worshiped and loved deeply, Rhyan Carter, Andrew Carter, Nicholas Carter, Felicia Carter, Owen Carter and Drew Carter. Predeceased by loving and caring brothers, Robert Carter (Helen), Charles Carter (Elizabeth) and Donald Carter. John was born in St. John's, N.L., on February 27, 1940. Loving son of the late Donald Weston Carter and Mary Joseph Gabriel (Fox) Carter. A very spiritual and religious man with an open heart and hands to help anyone in need. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. In his early years he was a member of the broadcast and print media. He had an entrepreneurial spirit that led him to pursue careers in advertising, communications and sales. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Shepherds of Good Hope or a charity of your choice. Mass and Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
