Daphne Rees

REES Daphne (nee Sparkes) Passed peacefully away at her residence Tiffany Village, St. John’s, Daphne Rees in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd Rees in 2014. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of cherished memories are her sister, Susan Sparkes-Fewer (Harold) Niagara Falls and brothers, Glenn Sparkes (Trish) Ottawa, Derek Sparkes (Natalie) Mount Pearl, Dave Sparkes (Jean) St. John’s, special cousin Paulette Hoyles-Hann, Okotoks, AB, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, all of whom she adored. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the staff of Tiffany Village and Dr. Mercedes Penton for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our beloved sister, particularly during her final days. Special thanks to her long-time friend Ruby Hiscock for her constant companionship and support. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Visitation to take place on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM with funeral service from the chapel, Barrett’s Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2PM. Cremation to follow with private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Daphne’s memory may be made to the local SPCA or Heavenly Creatures Inc.
