Daphne, aged 88, was the daughter of the late Victor Hollett of Spencer’s Cove, NL and Edith Hollett (Gilbert) of Haystack, NL. Daphne was a caring, compassionate, and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for many years, retiring in 1994 from the Children’s Rehabilitation Centre. Caring for children with special needs was her greatest passion. She will be deeply missed by her loving children Craig (Lise), Brad (Susan), Blair (Cathy), Rodney (Frances), and Janice (Brian); cherished grandchildren, Brayden, Riley, Sophie, Matthew, Nadyezhda, Malcolm, and Julia; sisters Ivy Blackmore (Harold) and Gwen Hollett; as well as her lovable grand fur babies Charlie, Rocky and Orangie. We would like to acknowledge some special people who were very dear to Daphne including: The members of her graduating class (1954) from the General Hospital School of Nursing, all members of the Anchorman Barbershop Chorus, especially Alex Andrews and Lester Bowering, as well as close family and friends Sarah Hendrickson, Greg Marsh, Kai and Cathy Ward and numerous nieces and nephews. A heartfelt and extra special thank you to all the staff at St. Luke’s Home for the wonderful care, kindness and compassion you provided to Daphne, as well as to the whole family. We will be forever grateful.
