BALLARD Derek January 9, 1962 - August 4, 2020 With sadness we announce the passing of Derek (Doc) Ballard on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020. Predeceased by his father John Ballard in 1992 and his grandfather Felix McCarthy in 1982. Remembered with tears among smiles by his son Mark, whose climb to the top of the world was an infinite source of pride and bragging for Doc. By his devoted and ever-loving mother, Mary Ballard, his sisters Donna (John) and Bern (Paul), his brothers Al (Karen), Wayne (Julie), and Don (Shirley), along with ten nieces and nephews and six grand-nieces and nephews. By his buddies, John Hill, Mike Adams and Mac Turner and friend Sharon Moores. Doc will be remembered for his service as a skilled RNC officer, tireless community volunteer, devoted man and true friend. Loud, boisterous, outlandish, hilariously funny, kind, gentle, devoted and loved. We will miss you. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday, August 23rd, from 1PM to 5PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Monday, August 24th at 10 am. COVID-19 Restrictions will be adhered to. Doc will be laid to rest overlooking the ocean at home and at peace in Bellevue, Trinity Bay.
