COOK Effie Burgess (Barnes, nee Harding) January 2, 1922 - June 8, 2019Passed peacefully away on June 8, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, Effie Cook of Pouch Cove at the age of 97 years. Pre-deceased by her first husband Victor Barnes (1966) and second husband Henry (Harry) Cook (2005). Leaving to mourn daughter Victoria (Wayne) Pennell; step-son Norman Cook (Joan Butler); step-daughter Janet Moulton; grandchildren: Joanne (Keith) Connors; John (Kelly Waters) Pennell; step-grandchildren Tracy Cook; Paula Cook; Jacqueline (Sean) Connors; Beth Moulton; Benjamin (Elizabeth) Moulton and William Moulton; great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Scotty and Hillary; step-great-grandchildren; Connor, James, Abigail, Ariana and Brielle. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cambridge Estates and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for the care they provided over the past thirteen years. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, St. John’s. Visitation on Sunday June 9 from 7-9pm, and Monday June 10 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held from Memorial United Church, Pouch Cove on Tuesday June 11 at 2pm. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Pouch Cove Line, Pouch Cove.
