Eileen Maria Cleary (Hynes)

Passed peacefully away at the age of 93, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband Patrick Cleary (1988); parents John Jo Hynes and Lucy (Ryan); brothers Howard, Thomas, Ernie, Vincent, Clarence, and Peter Hynes, all of Ferryland. Leaving to mourn her children Robert, who took such good care of Mom, Barbara Woodall (Ian) of Brampton, Ontario, Lucille Conway (John), and Paul (Susan Cooper). Her two sisters, Rita Maddock (Bill-deceased) who was always there for Mom, and Cecilia McKinnon (Wilf-deceased), and brother Aiden Hynes (Edna); Her grandchildren, whom she loved so much, John Paul Conway (Bernadette), Stephen Conway (Maria Martin), Paul Cleary (Beth Thomander), Christopher Cleary, Jennifer Woodall and Stephanie Woodall; and her precious great-grandchildren Hailey and Gracie Conway. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Special thanks to Kelly McNiven (her primary caregiver), who Nan referred to as her angel for taking such good care of her. Also, Rebecca, Amber, and Meghan. She held a special place in her heart for her hometown of Ferryland, NL, and often took drives and talked about it in her later years. She also had a passion for singing in the choir and playing her ukulele and guitar with her friends at the Mews Centre. She was involved in many activities such as the Fifty Plus Club, Travel Club, and exercise groups for many years at the Mews. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 12pm-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Church on Patrick Street, Monday, March 18, 2019 at 9:30am. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations accepted to The Gathering Place.
