Power Eileen Marie It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Eileen Marie (Pellerin) Power, age 79, who passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, surrounded by her loving family and friends in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. She was born in Larry’s River to Alphonse and Clara Pellerin. Eileen was a graduate of St. Martha’s Nursing School in Antigonish and spent most of her working life in pediatrics. She was a kind, generous and welcoming person who was well loved in her communities of St. John’s and Larry’s River. Eileen was actively involved in her church and participated on the parish council. As a proud Acadian, Eileen enjoyed helping coordinate activities for the annual Acadian reunion which celebrates the Acadian heritage. Eileen leaves her husband of 56 years, Dr. John Power; their children, Joan (Carlos Lorencez), Michelle (Maurice Benchetrit) and John (Lisset Rios); her grandchildren, Clara and Liam Bonnor; Daniel and Nicole Lorencez and her siblings, Barbara, Edward (Theresa), Lorraine (Bill) Black and Sylvester (Marilyn). She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Karen; brothers, Donald and Ulysse in infancy. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 24, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Larry’s River with Rev. Frank Pellerin officiating. Interment to follow in St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery. We will be forever grateful to the loving doctors, nurses and support staff at Guysborough Memorial Hospital for their kindness and dedication during Eileen’s extended stay. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W.
