KENT Elda Mary "Joan" (nee Dawson) Age 69Of Carbonear, NL, formerly of Bay Roberts, NL, Peacefully passed away on May 9, 2019, at the Private Josiah Sqibb Memorial Pavilion in Carbonear. Born May 1, 1950, in Clarenville, NL, she is predeceased by her father, George Dawson of Bay Roberts, NL. Survivors include her three children, Darren and John of St. John’s, NL, and Michael of Scarborough, ON; grandsons Caleb and Connor of Mount Pearl, NL; granddaughters Bianca, Contessa and Alyssa of Bay Roberts, NL. Joan is also survived by her mother Inez Dawson, sisters Madonna (husband Donald), Maureen, Sharon and Melissa (husband Clifford), all of Bay Roberts, NL; brothers Mike (wife Diane) of Clarke’s Beach, NL, and Geoff (wife Sharon) of Mount Pearl, NL; as well as nine nephews and nieces and ex-husband Phonse Kent of Bay Roberts, NL.Joan was a pleasant person and was seen as an inspiration to those who knew her, having lived most of her life dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. Joan was a loving daughter, sister and mother. We can all be sure that she appreciated everything everybody did for her by taking time from busy lives and schedules to visit and have a chat or do a word search puzzle. At Joan’s request, cremation was arranged and completed through Moore’s Funeral Home in Bay Roberts, NL, with a private service and burial to take place in Bay Roberts at a later date. The family wishes to thank those who have extended emotional support for Joan during her final days.
