Emma Brown
BROWN Emma Isobel Promoted to Glory Emma Isobel Brown passed peacefully away in her 88th year, at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on the evening of Sunday, July 12th. Emma was educated at the Salvation Army College, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University and a diploma in Library Science from the University of Toronto. She worked for 20 years as a librarian at Memorial University. She was an avid dog owner and a member of both the Newfoundland and Canadian Kennel Clubs. Emma was a life-long member of The Salvation Army and was involved in many of its activities especially enjoying singing in the St. John’s Temple Songsters. She is fondly remembered by her sister Ada (Gordon) Moyles, brother Allan (Vivian) Brown, sister-in-law Barbara (Chesley) Brown, and many other relatives and friends. Special thanks go to nephew Edward and Margo Brown for their loving care of Emma during her latter years. A Memorial Service will be held during the summer of 2021.
