Emma Mae Hunt

Emma Mae Hunt
HUNT (nee HILLER) Emma Mae Nov. 15, 1944 - Nov. 18, 2020 It is with the deepest sorrow we announce the passing of the late Emma Mae Hunt (nee Hiller) on Wednesday November 18th, 2020 at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, Alberta at the age of 76 years. She was courageous to the end and her resolve and fighting spirit left a lasting impression on all those around her. Emma was predeceased by her parents: Augustus and Dinah Hiller; her siblings: Edgar, John, Susan, Etta, Polly, Eva, Ruth, Millie, Lillian, Jean, and Sheila. Leaving to mourn her husband, Raymond Hunt; her son Gus (Jodi-Anne); her stepsons: Peter (Tereza) and Paul (Sandra);her grandchildren: Robert (Ryan), Thomas (Nick), Jaimie (Myles), Sarah (Lamont), Paul Jr., Samuel and Kieran; her great-grandchildren: Anna and Chase; her sisters: Violet, Clara and Mabel, and many cherished nieces and nephews including Glennys (Conroy) and Lenore (Wayne). Emma was spirited, feisty, smart and fiercely loving and loyal. She was stubborn, strong willed, quick-witted, and loved politics. She had an unapologetic sweet tooth, loved to learn, loved life and she loved to laugh. She was the first to step up if her family or friends were in need and the last to leave your side. There are not enough words to express the empty spaces she filled and the empty spaces she leaves behind. She will forever be missed and cherished by her family and friends. Deep and sincere gratitude to the outstanding compassionate and kind care demonstrated by the doctors, nurses and staff at the Foothills Medical Centre and South Health Campus in Calgary. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Newfoundland when family and loved ones can safely gather to remember. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or Make a Wish Foundation.
