Fanny Eveleigh (Fay), age 102, 6 months, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Luke's Seniors Home in St. John's. Born on February 15, 1916 in Joe Batt’s Arm, Fogo Island. Predeceased by her parents James and Jessie Eveleigh, her four brothers, Simon (Jessie), Hector (Ettie), Reginald (Lydia), and Arthur (Gertie). Leaving to mourn with fond memories, nieces and nephews: Eileen (Arthur Marsh), Reg (Diane), Jessie (Lesley Keeping), James (Janet), Madelene (Bill Papson, deceased), Jean (David Parry), Lorraine (David Hickey), Raymond (Ruby), Gerald deceased (Theresa). Fay retired from teaching after spending 31 years as a primary teacher. She taught in many areas of the province but completed her career in Gander. She was an avid reader. After retirement, Fay traveled quite often and also enrolled in many painting courses. She really enjoyed her quiet time painting and produced many beautiful scenic pictures. Fay lived independently until the age of 94. She will be missed. Cremation has already taken place. A funeral service will be held at The Church of the Good Sheppard, 111 Richard Nolan Drive in Mt. Pearl on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fay’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
