Florence Mclean
MCLEAN Florence (nee Tremblett) Passed peacefully away on November 12, 2019 as the sun rose brilliantly over her home town, Florence McLean. Florence or "Nanny Floss", was born on Bell Island, NL on March 14, 1931 to Thomas and Josephine Tremblett. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Dave, her infant daughter, Sandra, her parents, brother Tom Tremblett and her sister, Jeanie Delores. She is survived by her eight children - Paul (Beth), Jean (Ed Hartley- deceased), Christine (Bob Bruce), Beverley (Bob McDonald-deceased), Barry (Marion), Ramona (Fred Pitcher), David (Patsy) and Jerry (Fiona); her 18 grandchildren and her 25 great- grandchildren. She also leaves to celebrate her life, her brother, Gerald Tremblett (Molly), sister in law, Olive Tremblett, niece, Karen Hoddinott (Merrill) and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Mom, along with her children moved from Bell Island to Labrador City in 1967 to join Dad and make a new home for their family. She remained there until 2011. Mom was a gentle lady with a heart of gold who loved her family greatly. She was always one to recognize birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions with a card, phone call and if possible, a visit. It was nothing strange to receive a voicemail singing, "Happy birthday to you." She was an excellent cook and her Saturday "watered down soup" was legendary. She will be sadly missed by all she touched. Cremation has occurred and inurnment will take place immediately following the celebration of life. Visitation with the family will take place at Pendergast's Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14 from 2:00-400 and 7:00-9:00. Funeral mass will take place at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, November 15 at 1:45. The family offers sincere gratitude to Dr. Laurie, Dr. Zamil and the nursing and personal care staff at the Dr. Walter Templeman Health Care Center, Bell Island for the care, comfort and respectful treatment shown to our mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, 136 Crosby Road, St. John's, NL in Mom's name.
