GATHERALL Frances M. Feb. 26, 1931 – Nov. 21, 2020 Frances passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family and entered into eternal life in her 90th year. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Gertrude (Colbert) Gatherall and her brother-in-law Fred Bruce. Leaving to mourn her sisters Theresa Bruce, Josephine Gatherall, Madonna Gatherall, R.S.M., and brother Martin (Esther) Gatherall, as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Frances was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She treasured her family above all. She was also a woman of great charity and generosity, always seeing the need and contributing greatly to address that need. In addition, Frances was a well-respected teacher for most of her adult life and retired, after a lengthy career in education, from educational administration. Always interested in learning and in giving more to her students and to her career, she obtained a B.A.(Ed.) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, a M.Ed from the University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. from the University of Boston. Always cheerful, she loved to sing, and delighted those who had the privilege to be in her presence. Frances was a very religious woman and put her trust in God throughout her life and as her death approached. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life, at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 10 a.m. in Caul’s Chapel. The service is by invitation only due to COVID-19 restrictions. An inurnment will follow immediately after the service at St. Michaels Cemetery in St. Michaels for immediate family only. For those who wish to join us virtually, the service will be lived streamed at https://vimeo.com/event/491994 and will start 5 minutes before service time at 9:55 a.m. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Michaels Cemetery in St. Michaels for the upkeep of the cemetery. ‘Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee. How great Thou art, how great Thou art.’
