Gary also had a second family when he joined Serco 5Wing Goose Bay 21 years ago. Before that he had a 25 year career as Sergeant in the C.A..F as well he did a Peace Keeping Tour of Duty in the Goland Heights. He was also a respected co-worker, friend, mentor, Fire Inspector and former Platoon Chief. Gary was a role model with a personality as big as life with a combination of knowledge and humor which was one of the many reasons he was so loved and respected. Gary was taken and delivered to the airline by his Platoon and his family from the Fire Hall who did a water canon salute. Our family sends a special thanks to Murray Pike Operation Mgr. of Serco, his brothers and sisters fire fighters, the Serco Goose Bay team. The respect and love that was shown to Gary will never ever be forgotten. It has touched his family very deeply and showed us the side of Gary’s work and of his other family that we never knew.
