Geoffrey Peddigrew
PEDDIGREW Geoffrey Stephen Mar. 30, 1972 - Nov. 14, 2019 It s with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son Geoff at the age of 47 following an acute medical condition. He is predeceased by his beloved brothers, Chris (2014) and Rob (2017). Leaving to mourn: broken hearted parents, Bob and Marguerite; very special nephew, Ty and his mother, Jeannette Peddigrew; aunts and uncles Marilyn and Allen Wright, Patricia and Fred Hawksley, Louise and Paul Skirving, Karen Beehan (N.S.) and Lynn Peddigrew; sister in-law Jessica Peddigrew and her family; many cousins and numerous friends; RCMP Emergency Response Team comrades and Ottawa Police Service special friends. Following graduation from O'Donell High School, Geoff enlisted with the Canadian Armed Forces where he served from 1989 to 1996. This period included a tour of duty as a Peacekeeper in Croatia. From 1996 to 1997, he successfully completed training and graduated as a RCMP officer. Following postings in Twillingate, NL and Bell Island, NL. Geoff was proud to be invited to join the Emergency Response Team in Ottawa in 2002. Geoff had many scars from his years of service abroad and domestically, however, his dedication to serving others never wavered. He was a warrior, a proud police officer and a proud veteran. He had numerous friends throughout the world and many friendships that lasted a lifetime. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He brightened people's lives just by being there. He was always willing to listen and comfort those in distress. We want Geoff to be remembered for the remarkable, intelligent, loving son, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, soldier, police officer and treasured friend that he was. We are all privileged that Geoff entered our lives. He leaves behind many beautiful memories and lasting impressions of his high energy, his wit, his antics that made people laugh, his mischievous smile, his eagerness to help and his generous heart. Heaven is a brighter and livelier place now that Geoff has joined his two brothers. Geoff, you are in our hearts forever. Lovingly, Mom and Dad. Cremation and a Remembrance Visitation have taken place in Ottawa.
