In his 88th year, passed peacefully away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in St. John’s. Predeceased by his parents Rev. T. Malcolm and Emma Smith; sister Miriam (Levi) Peddle; brother Clyde Smith (Alice Smith-Wiscombe); sister Rosalind Stokes (Cyril); brother Cecil Smith (Susan); sister Rita Parsons (Abel); Kathleen Goldsworthy (Kenneth). Leaving to mourn children: Lanette (Craig), Gaylene, Jana (Nathaniel), Daryl (Nim) and Barry (Kathy), and their mother Bernice; grandchildren: Lydia, Ryan, Taylor, Benjamin, Braden, Zachary and Jared; brothers: Rex Smith (May) and Oliver Smith; sisters-in-law Joan Smith, Susan Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Friday, August 3, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place from Barrett’s Chapel on Saturday, August 4, time to be announced. Interment to follow at Forest Road Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry’s memory may be made to KidSport Newfoundland and Labrador.
