PARRELL Gordon Joseph It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a gentle soul on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Gordon Joseph Parrell age 77, passed away peacefully after a 4 year battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s at the L.A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by his devoted wife Marilyn and loving family. Gordon is pre-deceased by his parents Edith and Edward Parrell, his brothers Don (Catherine), Fred, Edward Jr. and sister Elizabeth. Left to cherish his life is his loving wife Marilyn, his two children Colleen and Scott, his 4 grandchildren, Sasha (Josh McEwan), Carly, Chase and Ryan. Gordon had one great-granddaughter Jayda whom he cherished even though he was battling his disease she always brought a smile to his face. His sister Phyllis (the late Art Jackman) his brother Dave (Debbie), Malcom (the late Kay Parrell) and Robert Parrell as well as a number of nieces and nephews and extended family. Special friends Henry and Marie Coombs. As per Gordon's request cremation has already taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will take place from Caul’s Chapel on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10am. Special thanks to the most caring Doctors and Nurses at the Palliative Care Unit. To the staff at St. Luke’s Day Program who made Gordon feel like family each time he was there. To our family and friends for their texts, phone calls, food or any gesture that made this journey bearable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Gordon’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society NL. Gone But Never Forgotten
