LUBY Grace Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 Grace Luby (nee Thorne), age 94 years. Predeceased by sisters: Margaret Rogers and Verna Hemmens; and brothers: Bertram, Frederick and Carson. Leaving to mourn sons: Edward Luby (Josephine); David Luby (Patricia); Lloyd Luby (Yvonne); sister-in-law Joyce Thorne (Frederick), in Rye E. Sussex, England; grandchildren: Cathy Blundon (Joe); Jennifer Pye (Derek); Scott Luby (Jody) and Steven Luby; seven great grandchildren. Also beloved nieces and nephews; Randy Thorne (Debbie), Debbie Hiscock (Ray), Marlaine Manning (Jack), Fred Thorne, Brenda Thorne-Stevens, Donald Thorne (Ann), Richard Thorne (Wendy), and a large circle of friends: including those from St. Luke’s Seniors Day Program, Nooks and Cranny’s Tours, Riverhead Towers, and throughout many years having retired from the Grace General Hospital. Special thanks to the staff of 6 East, St. Clare’s Hospital. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday October 10th and Friday October 11th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 12th at 10:00am, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, (off Hamilton Avenue extension). In lieu of flowers or at your discretion, donations in her memory may be made to the charities she regularly supported: The Salvation Army, Canadian Cancer Society, Seven Day Adventist Church or St. Luke’s Day Care Program.
