WATSON Grace (nee Hamilton) January 1, 1923 – November 21, 2020 Grace passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home in St. John’s, Newfoundland on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Predeceased by her husband Jack; daughter Bonnie (Don Orange, deceased); son Allan and stepchildren Johnny, Greta (Jimmy Capranos, deceased) and Billy. Leaving to mourn her daughters Pat Power (Steve, deceased) of Calvert, Newfoundland, Heather Watson (Peter Josic) of Picton, Ontario and stepdaughter Gladys Boland (Joe, deceased) of Scarborough, Ontario. Also, her only surviving sibling, her dear brother Bill Hamilton of Oliver, BC and his family; grandchildren Wendy, Richard, Diane, Shelley, Andrew, Bonnie, Stephanie and Martina; her step grandchildren Jake, Christine, Charmaine, Barbara, Sandra, Cheryl, Cindy, Dale and Teresa; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren in Canada and the USA. Also leaving to mourn her extended family and friends, especially Jean McDonald of Scarborough, Ontario and her many nieces and nephews, particularly Cindy Baker, Valerie Garde and Brenda Lennon. Grace was born and raised in Callander, a small town in northern Ontario. She had five brothers and two sisters, Lorne, Gord, Doug, Lloyd, Bill, Eunice and Beth. Grace lived most of her life and raised her family in the Toronto area. She loved gardening, the Toronto Maple Leafs and a good hamburger. She baked and gifted the most delicious shortbread. Throughout her life, she made many good friends and lived through many challenges, ultimately almost reaching a century. Sincere thanks to the staff at Alderwood Retirement Centre, Witless Bay and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, 1st floor North/South for all of their expertise, care and support over the past two years since Grace moved to Newfoundland. For several years prior to her move, she lived at Scarborough Retirement Residence where she made many friends. As Grace had wished, cremation has taken place. Service and internment will take place at Pine Hills Cemetery in Scarborough, Ontario at a later date.
