CLARKE James Kevin June 2, 1934 - January 25, 2020 It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, husband, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, James Kevin Clarke on January 25th, 2020. Predeceased by parents Robert and Elizabeth Clarke, son Dorman, son-in-law Raymond Vickers, brother Richard, sister Gertrude and her husband Pat McGrath, and sister-in-law Bernice. Leaving to mourn is his loving and devoted wife of fifty-nine years Cora (Poole), children Greg (Diane), Rodger (Roberta), Beverley, daughter-in-law Cavell and siblings Brendan, Robert, Stephen (Marie), Marie (Maurice Tuff), Mabella (Chris Whitten), Betty (Eric Cheeseman), sister-in-law Mary, grand-children, great grand-children, a large circle of family and friends, and numerous colleagues made over Kevin’s 31 year career with CN Marine serving the coastal communities of Newfoundland and Labrador. A sincere thank you to the staff of 7 West, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and a special thank you to Dr. Susan Mercer for her care of our father and her devotion to our mother. Cora would also like to recognize friends Cyril Chafe, Judy and Robert Glynn and her siblings Lydia Mesher and Guy Poole, and Kevin’s siblings who have supported her during this difficult time. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, on Wednesday, January 29th from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Thursday, January 30th from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 31st, 2020 from St. Joseph’s Church, Petty Harbour. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal whose work father always admired and respected.
