CHEESEMAN Joan On 16 September 2020, Joan Cheeseman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away in peace at age 92. Joan was born on 12 August 1928 in Meaford, Ontario to Jessie and Albert Bridges and grew up with two precious sisters, Irene and Margaret. When Joan was working in Goose Bay she met the love of her life, her husband Frank Cheeseman. Their love and commitment to each other was strengthened during their years stationed with the RCMP in Cartwright, Corner Brook, Gander, and St. John’s. Joan will be forever remembered for her steadfast faith in the Lord, the source of her endless strength and peace. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank, we take comfort in knowing they are together again. Dearly beloved mother of Frank (Barbara) and Wendy. Adored grandmother of Laura (James) and Evan. She will be missed by sisters-in-law Eleanor (Wes) and Ellie (Reg), special friends Elena, Lorraine, Tienyan, Rosemary, Minnie, Jane, Jeanne, Reg and Judy, Shirley and Eugene, Margaret and Neil, Blake and Catherine, her loving neighbours and her entire church family. Memories of her sweet laugh, her faith, determination, and enduring love will be cherished forever. She was blessed beyond measure, and blessed us beyond measure. We love you Mom, we love you Grama! Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitation on Monday, September 21, 2020 from 11:30am – 9:00pm. Funeral service will be held from The Crossing Church, 314 Topsail Road on Wednesday, September 23rd at 1:30pm. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. The funeral service will be livestreamed for those wishing to attend virtually (link to be provided at www.barretts.ca).
