Passed peacefully away in her own home, surrounded by the love of her family, Josephine Guiney of Goulds, age 88 years. Predeceased by her husband Leo (March 1, 2017) of 61 years, her parents Denis and Ann Walsh, stepfather Thomas Halleran, sisters Mary, Nellie (Mike-deceased) Murphy and Anna (George-deceased) Wescott. Leaving to mourn with precious and loving memories are her children Gerard, Calgary, AB., Rick, (Gerri) Cold Lake, AB., Denise (Mario) Curtis, Edmonton, AB., Christine and son-in-law Gary Willmott who resided with her in Goulds, Noel (Donna) Kingston, Ontario, eight grandchildren: Scott and Sarah Curtis, Keaghan, Kendal, and Corbin Guiney, Sean Guiney, Elizabeth and Matthew Guiney and four great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn her very special sister Monica (Bob-deceased) Cover, and her family, Little Rock, Arkansas, her two beautiful sisters-in-law Marie (Cyril-deceased) Guiney and Ethnea (Charlie-deceased) Guiney, nieces, nephews, great friends, wonderful kind neighbours and her Saturday evening St. Kevin's choir friends. The family is grateful to and would like to acknowledge Father Jeff Kolonel for his pastoral care and friendship, Dr. Allison Hillman for her many years of caring for mom, the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre especially Dr. Kamran and Nurse Bertha Tee, the Community Health nurses especially Sheena Williams and Tammy-Lee Joyce, Palliative Care nurse Carmel Collins and our kind and supportive friends and absolute "Earth Angels" Linda Sullivan and Helen Lawlor. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday from 2-9 p.m. and Monday from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place from St. Kevin’s Church on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Kevin’s Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made to St. Kevin's Family Aid.
