Emma Rose Peterson
PETERSON, Emma Rose (MacDonald) Blackett’s Lake-Orangedale We are devastated by the loss of one of the brightest lights in our lives on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Emma Rose has left us much too soon. The loss we feel is monumental. She was born December 17, 1986. Growing up in Blackett’s Lake, Emma Rose was our only daughter and our middle child, having Alexander and Calum for brothers. She graduated from Riverview Rural High School, Mount Allison with her BA degree and then went to NSCC, graduating with her carpentry diploma. To know Emma Rose, was to know the sweetest, most caring, positive and down-to-earth woman who always put others before herself. She was a lady of amazing strength and fortitude, especially in the face of unbeatable news. Emma Rose fought for her life right up to the last day. Her smile and charisma never dimmed. She loved unconditionally all of us who were so blessed to be her family, friends and acquaintances. Emma Rose achieved her two dreams for life – a husband who loves her and having children to love. She will be deeply missed by the man she called the love of her life, her best friend and husband, Niles. They supported each other in every way and made their forever home in Orangedale, living a happy, simple life together. Always a mom first, Finlay, Isla and Tucker are her pride and joy. Her love for them will go on forever. She loved the three of you with her whole heart always. Emma Rose had a true love for life, whether it be a day with her “little family” at Inverness Beach, baking delicious sweets for family and friends, watching her children play, enjoying her many animals or going for dinners or get-togethers with the girls. Emma Rose is survived by us, her parents, Kathy and Darryl MacDonald, Baddeck Bay and her brothers, Alexander (Amber), Sydney and Calum, Vancouver. She is also survived by Niles and their three children, Finlay, Isla Mae and Tucker. Emma Rose is survived by “Nanny”, Sheila MacDonald, as well as her sister-in-law, Jill (Mike); brother-in-law, Graham (Jessi); mother-in-law, Sheila Higgins; father-in-law, Wayne (Evelyn) Peterson; nephews, Avery, Emerson, Llewyn, Marshall and Thomas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her “Pappa”, Rev. Jackie MacDonald and her Grammie and Papa, Muriel and John Kaiser. Emma Rose was devastated by the loss of one of her best friends, Vicki. We give a heartfelt “Thank you” to the many, many medical personnel who cared for Emma Rose throughout her illness, especially Dr. Rhea MacDonald and Lori Ann in Inverness. A very special thank you to all her very special friends who gave her support always, Julie, Ashley, Madonna, Vanessa, Brittaney and Kristi. Thank you to all who helped in so many, many ways. Our world is full of kindness and good people. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
