SMITH Kevin Joseph Gerard March 28, 1952 - August 9, 2020 Passed peacefully away on August 9, 2020 at the Miller Center surrounded by his wife and children, Kevin Joseph Gerard Smith of Norman’s Cove, aged 68 years. Predeceased by his parents, Gregory and Elizabeth Smith; sister, Rosalind Sheir; brothers-in-law, Gerald Hickey and Henry Rockhill; and special niece, Denise Newhook. Lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife, Janice; children, Brent (Stephanie), Tanya (Stephen), Jenna (Tyler), and Jeff Barrett (Paula); grandchildren, Trent, Alexa and Hudson, Parker and Rheya, and Alexander; his special buddy, Daniel; siblings, Josephine, Gregory (Golda), Ron (Sonia), Helena (Kevin), Anne (Bill), and Barbara; mother and father-in-law, Clement and Doris Temple; brothers-in-law, Robert (Velma), Roger (Annette), Wesley (Wanda), and Jody (Nora); sisters-in-law, Christine, Lois (Rick), and Judy (Keith). Also a large number of nieces, nephews, family, friends and co-workers from Local Union 740 Welders and Pipefitters Association. Special thanks to Robyn for all her support and guidance. Kevin, aka the legend among his friends and coworkers at Local union 740, was a soft spoken, gentle man with a loving heart. The most important thing to Kevin was the happiness of his family and he passed that down to his children and grandchildren. Please feel free to share any special photos you have with the family. Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later time.
