Lawrence Cahill

Passed peacefully away following a brief illness, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, Lawrence Cahill, of St. Mary's, St. Mary's Bay, aged 84 years. Predeceased by parents John & Florence Cahill, brothers: Michael, Patrick, John and Cyril and sister Elizabeth. He will be sadly missed by his numerous relatives, friends and neighbors, including those from "The Point" and St. Mary's area. Larry was known for his vast knowledge, especially in the history of his hometown of St. Mary's, which was enjoyed by his many visitors. Resting at Gibbons' Funeral Home, St. Mary's, on Tuesday, March 13, from 7:00 – 9:00pm and Wednesday, March 14, 12:30 - 1:30pm, to be followed by Mass of Christian Burial, at 2:00pm, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary's. Burial to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Mary's Battery Restoration Committee (c/o The Gulch Beach Recreation Committee) - donation envelopes available at the funeral home.
