Marcella P. Linehan

Linehan, Marcella P.: (September 7, 1933 - April 19, 2019): Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family at the Glenbrook Lodge, on Friday, April 19, 2019, Marcella Linehan, RN in her 85th year. Predeceased by her parents: Ernest and Ida Linehan , sisters: Gladys Power, Anne Nolan, brother Joseph, brothers in-law: Robert Power and Thomas Nolan and sister in-law Kay Guiney. Left with cherished memories her sisters: Alicia, Sister of Mercy, Clarenville, Carmel Patey (John), Mildred Gambin (Bill) Colinet, Christina Penny (Harry) Corner Brook, brothers: Gerald, Ernest Jr. (Anne Marie), Colinet, Albert (Eileen), Paradise, Wayne (Tammy), Vancouver, Junior (Gloria), St. Catherine’s, numerous nieces nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends, including long time friends: Bernice Verbree and Clarice Case. Marcella was a proud graduate of the “Old General Hospital” where she began her long nursing career. This extended to smaller hospitals including Old Perlican, Markland and Come by Chance. She eventually returned to her alma mater where she served until the transition to the Health Science Complex where she remained till her retirement. She was a caring and accomplished nurse and diligent administrator. At Marcella’s request cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel, St. Mary’s Bay on Wednesday April 24, 2019 from 2 pm - 9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 10:00 am. Inurnment to follow in the family plot at the R. C. Cemetery, Colinet. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gathering Place, 172 Military Road, St. John’s, Nl. A1C 5P5. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood.
