Margaret Louise Higdon

Margaret Louise Higdon
HIGDON Margaret Louise Jan. 13, 1931 - Aug. 1, 2020 In the early hours of August 1st, 2020, the gates of Heaven were opened to welcome our beautiful mother Margaret Louise Higdon. Margaret passed peacefully in the arms of her daughter with her youngest son by her side. Waiting to welcome her was her soulmate and husband of 60 years, Grant. She is also joined in heaven by her infant daughter Madonna Diane, parents Lillian and Herbert Higdon, parents-in-law Nellie and Heber Higdon, brother Benson, brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Sisely Piercey, brothers-in-law Robert Moore and Larry Abbott, sister-in-law Marjorie (Fred) Williams, and brother-in-law Bill (June and Betty). Left with precious memories and grateful hearts are her children, Donna (Les) Russell, James (Doreen), Sidney (Greta), Lyndon (Sharon), Wayde (Wanda), Randy (Brenda), and Rodney (Lori-Anne); daughter-in-law, Doreen Higdon; her sisters Frances Moore and Madeline (Ron) Gamble; and sister-in-law, Ruby Higdon. She is also leaving with precious memories 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends, Alice and Norm Harnum. Missing her greatly and remembering her with a smile is her granddaughter and adventure buddy, Sarah Lambert. We would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Mom’s three homes away from home - Honeysuckle Estates, Shag Rock Manor and the Lions Manor Unit 3 staff including her granddaughter and LPN Tracey who took exceptionally good care of her during the past six months and when COVID restrictions prevented us from visiting. A special thank-you to the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre including Dr. Brent Tompkins and outstanding nurse Jean Ann Ryan as well Dr. Natasha Pardy, Hematologist. Mom was known as a woman with great faith and a huge heart. She loved to give and to help others. Nothing made her happier than having people around her table for food and fellowship. To honour her memory we ask that in lieu of flowers you perform a random act of kindness like she loved to do. Due to the restrictions of Covid-19 there will be a private visitation. A family service will be held from Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo on Wednesday, August 5 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Dildo. Proverbs 31: 25-29 “She is a woman of strength and dignity, and has no fear of old age. When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says. She watches carefully all that goes on throughout her household and is never lazy. Her children stand and bless her; so does her husband. He praises her with these words: ‘There are many fine women in the world, but you are the best of them all!” Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo.
