Marilyn spent the first 12 years of her life growing up on the Southside next to St. Mary’s church and was a proud student of Bishop Spencer College (Spencerian). She took many trips to the Southside (Below the Bridge) with her dad to visit the site of their former home and to visit their friends at the Outer Battery. To Marilyn, neighbours and friends were family, she made certain that anyone and everyone was welcomed for a cup of tea or an extended stay either at her home in Paradise or her “second” home (Ma’s home) in Gull Island on the North Shore of Conception Bay. Marilyn also enjoyed her summers as a child in Lamaline and cherished her time there with the Cake and King families. Her trips to Nova Scotia to visit family were special; especially time spent with family in Cape Breton and Lower Sackville. The family would like to thank her long-time family physician Dr. Domino Roy Chaulk, her team of doctors and staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre, and her team of doctors and staff, palliative care, and all who took the time to care, at the L.A. Miller Centre. Holy Innocents’ Anglican Church in Paradise was her place of worship and where she met so many wonderful friends. Cremation has already taken place and a celebration of life and burial will take place at a later date. With gratitude, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to: Holy Innocents’ Anglican Church 297 Paradise Road Paradise, NL A1L 2V5 To send a message of condolence, please visit www.carnells.com “SEE YOU IN HEAVEN”
