MATTHEWS Maud Frances (nee Wakeham) March 15, 1924 – May 27, 2020 Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion on May 27, 2020, Maud Frances Matthews (nee Wakeham), formerly of Petite Forte, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by her parents William and Elizabeth Wakeham; brothers: Joseph, Lawrence, Rudolph, Patrick, Gerald and Alphonsus; sisters: Bertha Newman, Emma Green and Mary Farrell. Leaving to mourn one sister Kathleen (Kay) Keough with whom she resided for over forty years, and Kay’s family, Brenda (Max) Collett, Mary (Calvin) Baker, Lorraine (Jim) Pittman and Michael (Debbie) Keough. Also, nieces Elizabeth Green, Beth Grant, Zita Morgan and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion for their compassion, care and kindness shown to Maud over the past several months. Because of the current COVID-19 Pandemic, a private visitation and funeral service will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
