Maxwell Cecil Porter

CPA Passed peacefully away at Dr. L.A. Miller Centre on Wednesday August 1, 2018, Maxwell Cecil Porter, CPA, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his parents Senior Major Hubert and Ida Porter; three brothers William (Renée), Leonard and Roy; baby sister Nellie and baby boy Maxwell Porter Jr. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 64 years Joan (nee Hiscock); daughter Patricia (Gary) Rideout; beloved grandchildren, which he adored, Andrew (Deborah) and Bethany Rideout; sisters Ruby Burden and Verley (Calvin) Noble; sisters-in-law Ruth Porter, Marion (Eric) Day and Eda Porter; also, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and colleagues. Max’s energy and vigor for life allowed him to work up to a week before he was hospitalized. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of St. Clare’s 7 West and Dr. L.A. Miller Centre 2 North for their care and compassion shown towards him during his stay there. Also a special thank you to their friends of the St. John’s Salvation Army Temple, especially Major’s Peter and Janice Rowe, for their support. The family will accept visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, August 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 6 from St. John’s Salvation Army Temple at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the Blackmarsh Road Salvation Army Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maxwell’s name may be made to St. John’s Salvation Army Temple Band.
