Michael Joseph Walsh

WALSH Michael Joseph April 18, 1928 – May 23, 2020 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a deeply cherished father, brother, grandfather, son, husband, and friend, surrounded by family members on May 23, 2020. Mike is predeceased by his wife Hope, son Michael, parents Will and Anne, and brothers Leo, Ed, Jimmy, Stan and Kevin. Leaving to mourn, he will be lovingly remembered by his children Renee (Heather), Leslie Anne, Kellie (Rob), sisters Jenny (Joe), Doreen, Anne, and Dolly, and brothers, Bill (Penney), Wayne (Janet), George (Janice), and Paul, daughter in-law Janice, and grandsons Gary and David. We wish to extend our deepest thanks to the staff at Saint Luke’s Home for their compassion, care, and kindness for Mike and his family, especially during the last days of his life. Born in 1928 into a family of 17 children in the Battery, it is almost hard to conceive of what life was like. We do know however, those roots grounded him for a life full of love for his family and loyal friends, both in The Battery and Quidi Vidi Village (The Gut). Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, a private visitation, funeral service and burial will take place at a later date.
