WHITE Michael It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Frances White at Pleasant View Towers at the age of 73 on May 15th, 2019. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary White; Brother Bill; Cousin Raymond White; Brother in Law Mike Long; Great Aunt Lizzie Walsh; sister and brother-in-law Rosemary and Bill Maddicks. Leaving to mourn with precious memories his devoted wife and best friend Brenda (Murphy); loving sisters: Anne Long, Elizabeth Beresford (Pat) and Therese Sutton (Don); sister-in-law Judy McGrath; sisters-in-law: Geraldine Gardner (Ted), Barbara Renouf (Sean), Patricia Roche (Dave) and Christine Symonds (Dave); brother-in-Law Jim Murphy and Paul Murphy (Patrick); nieces and nephews in Alberta, Ontario and in Newfoundland and Labrador, especially Patty Lepse Corcoran; special buddies and long time friends: Derrick March, Wayne Quinlan, Fred and Scott Saunders, Barry Hale, Gerry Rice and Reuben Harding; and other relatives and friends in Sunset Palms, Florida; Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Mike was born and raised on St. Brendan’s, Bonavista Bay, an island he truly loved so well. Mike started his working life as a young boy at the age of 18 leaving his hometown and travelling to Halifax where he worked with the Canadian Coast Guard on many search and rescue missions. Later he worked with the Railway and in 1972 he joined Her Majesty’s Penitentiary and worked for 25 years as a Correctional Officer. Special thanks to Dr. David Hart, Doctors and nurses at the Health Science and especially the staff of 3 SW Pleasant View Towers for their exceptional dedication and care. Words cannot express our thanks, especially to Dave Kendall, Sue Ryan and Linda Winter. Cremation has taken place. Visitation on Friday, May 17th, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Cauls Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral mass to take place on Saturday May 18th, 2019 at St. Peter’s Church, Ashford Drive, Mt. Pearl at 10:00 a.m with inurnment to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road . Flowers greatly accepted or donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
