Nellie Heffernan

HEFFERNAN Nellie (Nov.18, 1938 - Oct. 16, 2020) Passed suddenly, but peacefully away, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Friday, October 16, 2020, Helen Marie (Nellie) Heffernan, aged 81 years. Predeceased by her husband, John Francis (March 19, 1988). Leaving to mourn, her son Paul and his wife Joanne, daughters Anne Marie and her husband Dave Parks, and Christine and her husband Glenn Legge. Four grandchildren, Jessica Gorman (Dave), Geoff Heffernan (Kayla), Patrick Heffernan (Angela), and Nathan Legge. Five great-grandchildren, Ben and Abigail Gorman, Spencer and Rachael Heffernan, and Jane Heffernan. One sister, Teresa Gosine (Ray). Sisters-in-law Eileen Bidgood (John), Joan Sears and Rose Power. Also leaving to mourn, the residents and staff at Alderwood Estates in Witless Bay, especially her roommate Betty Swain. Special thanks to Angie Cluett and Colleen Esteves for the kindness that they showed to mom. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Monday from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society (Corpus Christi) or The Gathering Place.
