RIGGS Newman (Originally from Bay de Verde) Newman Riggs (originally from Bay de Verde) passed suddenly away on July 16, 2019 at the age of 73. Predeceased by his parents: William and Mabel Riggs; brothers: Llewllyn (Jennie), Joseph and William Riggs. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of almost 50 years Grace; children: Kerri (Gerry) Keeping, Jason (Krystal) Riggs; grandchildren that he loved dearly: Grace, Philip, and William Keeping, Paige, Hunter, and Katelyn Riggs; sisters: Florence (Henley, deceased), Sally (Bob) Luedee; special friend: Craig Lockyer. As well as a large circle of other family and friends. He loved spending most of his time on the sea, where he retired as a Captain from the Canadian Coast Guard. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday July 18, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and Friday July 19 from 10am-12pm. Funeral service to take place from St. Mary The Virgin Anglican Church on Friday July 19, 2019 at 2:00pm.
