GALLANT, Jacques J. The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, of Jacques J. Gallant formerly of Abram’s Village age 90 years. Born April 26, 1930, he was the son of the late Joe-Jacques Gallant and Melanie (née Arsenault) Gallant of Egmont Bay. Jacques is survived by his beloved wife Hermine Gallant and by his loving children Stella (Aurele) Arsenault, Elmer (Diane) Gallant, Marcel Gallant and Donald Gallant. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Vitaline (Donat – deceased) and Eveline (Edmond) and by brothers and sisters in-law Melvin (Archange), Claire (Albert – deceased), Raymond – deceased (Elva), Adrian (Joanne) and Geralda (Bill). He was a loving grandfather (pépé) to Liette (Marc), Michel (Corrie), Julie (Grace), Guy (Liette), Gisèle (Nick) and loving great grandfather to Keegan, Olivia, Gavin, Zoe and Ariya. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Léo (Adelina) and Camille (Ida) and by sister Lucie (Edmond). Jacques was a kind, soft spoken man who was admired by all. He worked as a machine operator and a snowplow driver through out his life. Known as a “jack of all trades” he took on any project that was given to him. Jacques will be sadly missed by family and friends. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home in Urbainville, where due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service (by invitation only) will be held on Saturday, April 17th.
